Products we love: festive gift ideas

What do you buy for the family member who doesn’t like to use harsh chemicals on their skin? Your loved one who avoids fragrances filled with parabens and phthalates? The colleague you picked out for Secret Santa who appears to have every food intolerance known to man? Or your dear friend, who is far too ‘hip’ for a standard gift? Here at Igennus, we have put our heads together to come up with the perfect selection of gift ideas to please even the most ‘difficult to buy for’ person. Speaking from experience, we would be exceptionally happy if these gifts turned up under our tree on Christmas morning…hint hint Santa.

For the young ones: Lumie – Bedbug

Lumie: Bedbug (£59.95)

If you have been following our social media pages, you will have seen that the staff of Igennus HQ have all become hooked on Lumie’s Vitamin L SAD light recently, as it enables us to increase our light exposure throughout the darker days. Lumie’s Bedbug is not only lovable, it also emits very low levels of blue light, which can be stimulating and disruptive of the sleep cycle at bedtime. Bedbug is perfect for reading bedtime stories, for middle of the night feeds, and for the young ones that don’t like to sleep in the dark.

For the lady on the go: Pukka – Womankind Bamboo Cup

Pukka: Womankind Bamboo cup (£8.99)

Pukka teas are a must at Igennus HQ where you’ll find a large array of Pukka’s herbal blends on offer. This beautifully printed Womankind Bamboo Cup is the perfect stocking filler for the woman in your life who enjoys a cup of herbal tea but is often on the go. She can simply brew up and take this re-usable cup on a commute to work, a journey to collect the children from school, or en-route to yoga. Bonus, this cup is made from natural bamboo fibre for those concerned with the environment, and there are other (less feminine) designs available.

For the one that likes to glow: Bare Minerals – Gold Obsession Chandelight Gold Illuminator plus brush

Bare Minerals: Gold Obsession Chandelight Gold Illuminator plus brush (£32)

One of the early mineral make-up brands that claims to be so good for your skin that you can even sleep in it. Many of the Igennus staff choose Bare Minerals as our go-to beauty brand of choice when it comes to make-up. Whilst we would be happy with most of the products from their Christmas collection, this beautifully encased Gold Illuminator, complete with an application brush, will provide a gift that will leave your loved one looking and feeling fabulous throughout the party season. With no parabens, and created using naturally derived minerals, Bare Minerals is a good make-up option for even the most sensitive of skin types.

For the conscientious cook: Visions – 3 Piece Cookware Set

Visions: 3 Piece Cookware Set (£119.99)

With three nutritionists and a team of food enthusiasts, we would all appreciate the Visions 3 Piece Cookware Set for Christmas. Made from ceramic glass, these saucepans reduce exposure to aluminium (exposure to which is linked to Alzheimer’s) and other harmful chemicals associated with non-stick pans, that may potentially wreak havoc with hormones. A gift of Visions glass cookware is sure to prompt more home-cooked and delicious meals, a gift for both you and the recipient. They have casserole dishes and frying pans in their range too…

For the men: Neal’s Yard Remedies – Men’s Everyday Collection

Neal’s Yard Remedies: Men’s Everyday Collection (£35)

With a Neal’s Yard aromatherapy diffuser burning essential oils in the office, we’re often found perusing the Neal’s Yard catalogue in our lunch breaks. We love the Men’s Everyday Collection which comes with a body wash, face wash and moisturiser to pamper the man in your life, as well as a handy wash bag to carry all of his essentials. You can rest assured that their products are free from nasty chemicals and contain organic and ethically sourced ingredients. Plus, they don’t test on animals, what more can you ask?

For the reader: The Little book of Lykke, Meik Wiking

The Little book of Lykke, Meik Wiking (£4.99)

We’ve all read The Little Book of Hygge, and whilst we’ve only just learn to pronounce it (or at least we think we’re pronouncing it correctly), the latest read from Meik Wiking, The Little Book of Lykke, (before you ask, we have no idea how to pronounce this one), is at the top of our Christmas wish list. After mastering the art of hygge, we’re ready to learn how the rest of the world finds happiness, and see if we can adopt some new approaches. Perhaps gift this one with candles; placed on a bookshelf with the beautifully decorated book, you’re doing more than gifting a book, you’re gifting hygge.

For the chocolate lover: Booja Booja – The Artist’s Collection

Booja Booja: The Artist’s Collection (£19.99)

Have you tried Booja Booja? If not, you really should. Deliciously indulgent chocolate truffles without the guilt. Not only does The Artist’s Collection come in a beautifully stylish box (hand-painted in Kashmir), the chocolates are made from organic ingredients, and free from gluten, dairy and soya, suitable for even the most sensitive digestive system. With a choice of hazelnut or fine de champagne chocolate truffles to choose from, why not choose both and treat yourself to the second box, or send it our way?

For the nostalgia lover: Wilkins & Sons Ltd – Lemon Curd Candle

Wilkins & Sons Ltd: Lemon Curd Candle (£25)

Who doesn’t enjoy the scent of invigorating citrus to bring to life the memories of eating lemon curd on toast for breakfast when they were younger? For the person who enjoys something a little different, the delicious Tiptree Lemon Curd Candle is made in England from natural wax, inspired by the homemade jams produced on the Tiptree farm in Essex since 1885. Why not add a selection of Tiptree jams to your gift to create a hamper?

For the one that deserves pampering: Green People – Night-time Beauty Ritual

Green People: Night-time Beauty Ritual (£30)

Every woman loves a gift that pampers, so put a big smile on someone’s face with this Night-time Beauty Ritual pack. The pack contains a face scrub and cream; the perfect products for any night time routine, complete with a stylish wash bag! The organic lifestyle company is our go-to for our skincare products; using natural and organic ingredients that haven’t been tested on animals, their products are free from harsh chemicals, meaning that we don’t need to worry about exposing our skin to products which may actually increase inflammation and speed up the ageing process.

For the pooch in your life: Lily’s Kitchen – Christmas Cracker Treats for Dogs (£3.49)

Lily’s Kitchen: Christmas Cracker Treats for Dogs (£3.49)

We all have that one pampered pooch, whether it’s your own, a family member’s, or a friend’s, so be sure to cater for the beloved pet with this Christmas Cracker Treat for Dogs. The beautifully hand-drawn cracker is filled with home-made turkey, cranberry, thyme and cinnamon flavoured Christmas biscuits that are both gluten and dairy free, the perfect healthy gift for your four-legged companion. If felines are more your thing, fear not – Lily’s Kitchen also offer their Christmas crackers for cats too, filled with turkey, chicken liver and cranberries treats. Lucky pets!

For the active one: Fitbit – Ionic

Fitbit: Ionic (£299.99)

Our beloved activity tracker just got upgraded! Give the ultimate fitness gift with the Ionic smart watch that will still track activity levels, but it now also contains a GPS, perfect for the adventurous runner. Bonus, if your beneficiary wants to stop for a quick hydration pit stop, or re-fuel for lunch, they no longer need to carry money or their wallet as the Ionic can be used to make payments! They can also sync it with earphones to listen to their favourite music whilst out and about, another thing they no longer need to carry. Long gone are the days when a watch used to simply tell you the time. And if someone needs a little encouragement to get active, why not consider the Flex 2 which will help them set goals and monitor their activity levels.

We hope this has given you a few gift ideas that we feel will be gratefully received by your loved ones. If you have spotted a few items on the list that you would like to see under your tree this year, now is the time to share this article on your social media page, or print it and leave it on your fridge before it’s too late.

Igennus would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas filled with love, laughter and friendship.
