Customer Support Nutritionist – full time


As nutrition aficionados and food enthusiasts, we create bespoke supplements and empower, educate and inspire people to live healthier, happier lives. Our small family run business is growing at a rapid rate and the company now requires a knowledgeable, multi-skilled and flexible individual to deliver first class nutrition advice and technical support to our consumer and practitioner business channels, and nutrition consultations through our digital clinic, MyOnlineCLINIC. Ad hoc support for the product development team may also be required.

The ideal candidate will be friendly, with a natural energy and strong desire to help others – and possess a passion for health, bringing a high level of nutrition knowledge and experience. The successful individual will be reliable and dedicated and able to adapt quickly to new challenges in order to help Igennus maintain their leading role in the nutrition industry. The relevant individual will also possess a strong learning mindset, since the business strongly embraces the ability to learn and adapt with our changing environment.

The role is based in Cambridge, UK and will be a standalone position working in a small multi-functional team.

The role
NUTRITION SUPPORT FOR CONSUMERS & PRACTITIONERS

  • Technical support: providing product and nutrition advice to consumers and practitioners by phone and live chat. Involves processing a handful of orders per day
  • Customer service support: dealing with technical customer service queries (via phone, email and live chat) rapidly and effectively; where necessary, escalating complex technical problems to the Head of Nutrition
  • Management of the in-house fatty acid testing service:  co-ordination of test kits, processing results and delivery of nutrition advice to our consumers
  • Delivery of nutrition consultations via video link for users of the MyOnlineCLINIC service
  • Coordination of webinars, using online webinar software and Mailchimp email software
  • Conducting product training with practitioners and providing follow-up support after webinars
  • Writing content: potential to contribute nutrition & lifestyle content for email campaigns, articles and social media
Skills profile
To be considered for this position, you will be:

  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Extremely proficient with technology and software, particularly Microsoft Office, and quick to pick up new digital tools used to support processes and efficiency (training will be provided on our CRM software)
  • Confident, with excellent oral and written communication skills, with an excellent telephone manner
  • Customer focused and adept at problem-solving, taking pride in providing first class service
  • A self-starter, willing to learn, flexible and able to prioritise tasks
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong experience in a customer-facing role
  • Experience of working in the nutrition and health industry, either with clinical or health food retail experience
  • Educated to degree level, with a relevant nutrition qualification (diploma level or above)
  • Experience in applying nutrition in a clinical setting would be a strong advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of nutrition coaching and functional medicine is desirable

Hours and compensation
  • 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 9.00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday based in Cambridge (near the Science Park)
  • To £30,000 depending on experience and 25 days’ holiday

About Maxine Sheils

Maxine is a Nutritional Therapy graduate of the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Manchester who has recently joined Igennus as a customer support nutritionist and is based here in Cambridge. Her interest in nutrition was sparked after working as an au pair in Australia to a family who were living on a raw food diet where coincidentally, she started to endure severe digestive problems. She joined CNM as a student to further her new found passion and was able to support her own body in regaining health. Maxine is passionate about nutrition and her ability to help others achieve their optimal health. She specializes in female hormonal problems such as endometriosis, thyroid problems, stress, autoimmunity and digestive disorders. Her degree in psychology provides her with a strong ability to understand and motivate others to achieve their health goals.
