'Free' form curcumin

Curcumin is one of the 3 main curcuminoids derived from turmeric root, which includes curcumin, DMC and BDMC. As ‘free’ curcumin is the most bioactive, at Igennus we provide curcumin using longvida technology to optimise its benefits. Unfortunately, many supplements, including those using delivery systems like Meriva, actually deliver very little ‘free’ curcumin, and more of the lesser active curcuminoids, which may not be as beneficial for health. Longvida technology is the only delivery system proven to effectively retain ‘free’ curcumin in the body.

Bioavailable & long lasting

Standard curcumin (turmeric) is very poorly absorbed, at less than 1%. Absorption is diminished throughout the digestive process, including being degraded by stomach acid. As a result, the half-life of standard curcumin (the time taken to halve its concentration in the body) is less than 1 minute! Piperine (black pepper extract) can extend its half-life to 6 minutes, however it has negative effects of suppressing liver detoxification function. In contrast, Longvida delivers curcumin with a 7-hour half life, and has shown to offer 285x greater bioavailability.

Lipid layer technology

Longvida technology encapsulates curcumin in a protective lipid layer, optimising its journey from pill to cell. Longvida transports curcumin effectively through the acidic environment of the stomach, and then bypasses normal absorption via the circulatory system, instead entering the lymphatic system. This key step bypasses the liver (which rapidly metabolises standard curcumin), and subsequently avoids early excretion by the kidneys. This advanced delivery system achieves 65x higher curcumin plasma levels with sustained effects.

Optimised Curricum

I have had problems with arthritis in my knees for a number of years and had bern taking turmeric and black pepper but that was now having little or no effect so I was having to take a lot of pain killers. My sister has been taking Optimised Curricum for almost a year and was telling me to give it a try. So after alomost three weeks of taking it I noticed I was no loo indeed needling as many pain killers. Now I'm half way through my 2nd bottle and I'm not taking any pain relief. My knees are by no means fixed but the pain has virtually gone, I still get twinges now and again. I'm delighted with the results and recommend it to friends. Thanks to my sister for giving me the heads up.
