Biologically active vitamin D3 form

Vitamin D exists in two forms: ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). Vitamin D3 is the form naturally produced in the body and the most biologically active form, which is better absorbed and utilised by the body.

Most vegan vitamin D supplements provide vitamin D as D2 ergocalciferol, but thanks to a new plant-based algae extract, vitamin D3 is now available to followers of a vegan diet (most D3 is sourced from lanolin, derived from sheep’s wool).

As a fat-soluble vitamin, the body can struggle to expel vitamin D if taken in high amounts for too long. These are at the right level of daily intake and don't interfere with my prescribed medication. Perfect for taking when there isn't much sun or when convalescencing indoors from surgery or illness, especially from an immunity point if view to prevent infection. I am impressed so far with these vitamins. They're very small, so they're easy to swallow.The bottle is also nice and doesn't take up much space. I haven't experienced any stomach issues with these, which is a plus. I'll know how effective they are once I get my yearly bloodwork done.
