Jav's professional journey began in an entirely different realm – with a PhD in Electronics – yet innovation has always been the common thread running through his career. Transitioning into computing in the early 1980s, he quickly carved out a new path, co-founding his first business with peers in Cambridge, the heart of UK tech innovation.
It was a deeply personal event – a close relative’s complex heart condition – that sparked Jav’s interest in the power of nutrition. Around the turn of the millennium, a series of chance conversations introduced him to the emerging science behind omega-3 fatty acids. What he discovered shocked him: despite the promising research, the products on the market were inadequate for clinical use.
Motivated by both scientific curiosity and a drive to make a real difference, Jav channelled his entrepreneurial spirit into developing a new generation of ultra-pure EPA omega-3 supplements – the first of its kind in the UK. This marked the birth of Igennus, setting in motion a mission-driven journey that continues to this day.
Under Jav’s guidance, Igennus has grown into a pioneering supplement company with a broad offering, recognised for its evidence-led, high-impact formulations that empower people to take control of their health. Though the path has been winding, his vision has remained steady: to harness scientific excellence, helping individuals thrive through the power of advanced nutrition.
