While we use fully-reacted, ‘gentle’ iron bisglycinate, this product contains 27mg of iron, which may cause mild stomach upset in sensitive individuals.

FAQs

When should I start taking Prenatal Vitamins & Minerals?

It is ideal to start taking prenatal vitamins while you are trying to conceive and throughout your entire pregnancy. Our formula is also designed to be taken for up to three months postnatal to help replenish your nutrient stores postpartum.

What makes this prenatal different from standard prenatal multivitamins?

Our Prenatal Vitamins & Minerals stand out from standard supermarket prenatals because we focus on the bioavailability and purity of every ingredient. For example, unlike many brands that use folic acid, we use L-methylfolate, the "body-ready" form that everyone can absorb, regardless of genetic variations (like MTHFR). For iron, we use ferrous bisglycinate, which is highly absorbable and much gentler on the stomach, reducing the chance of constipation or nausea often associated with standard iron. Additionally, we include choline and chelated minerals (like calcium and magnesium from seaweed), which are often missing or poorly absorbed in standard tablets. Our formula is clean-label, meaning it contains no artificial colours, flavours, or unnecessary fillers. Also, we know pregnancy can make you sensitive to smells, so our tablets are formulated to have no unpleasant odour or taste. It’s designed by our in-house nutritionists to work in harmony with your body during this important time.

Do I need any additional supplements when taking this prenatal formula?

While the Prenatal Vitamins & Minerals provide a comprehensive base, our nutritionists recommend a few "must-have" additions for optimal support: Omega-3 is essential for the normal brain and eye development of the growing foetus and is not contained in this formula. We recommend our Wild Fish Oil & Vitamin D3, which provides an added bonus: extra vitamin D3 to top up the smaller amount in the Prenatal Vitamins & Minerals. Other supportive formulas that could be added include Calcium & Magnesium High Absorption Algae Mineral Complex to support normal blood pressure and reduce cramps during pregnancy (just check your total vitamin D intake since this formula also contains vitamin D3), and LiveCultures+ to help balance gut bacteria and support digestive discomfort, which can be helpful during pregnancy.

Easier to swallow than the other brand we've tried, no nausea, and good dosages

Don't worry about the vitamin A - a lot of these reviews are full of misunderstandings. Beta-carotene is the unprocessed source of vitamin A found in many plants, and is perfectly safe for pregnant women. You aren't going to get vitamin A toxicity from this. Retinol is the processed form that is found in liver. This is what is in most multivitamins and face creams that people avoid during pregnancy, and your body can't control how much of it is released. Those with beta-carotene are fine as the body will only convert what is needed to retinol. The quantity of folate is also not low. 250 micrograms per tablet twice a day is well over the daily 400 dose recommended by the NHS. You are only recommended to take 4,000 if you're at higher risk of neural tube defects. I'm not sure whether there are any side effects to that dose where you don't need it. You should probably only do it if your doctor advises you to.The price is reasonable, and I prefer the twice-daily tablets, as they spread the dosages which might reduce what water soluble ingredients are lost to urine. My girlfriend has struggled with other single-dose tablets making her feel nauseous, especially if she has an empty stomach or hasn't been able to eat very much. These ones are a little smaller, and so far haven't made her feel ill at all.

Great supplement

Tasteless and easy to swallow. Not every prenatal supplement contains choline and magnesium. I'm glad that this one does. Great combination of vitamins and minerals for prenatal care.

I'm happy with how they make me feel

These capsules are normal sized and easy to take. There's no weird smell or funky taste to them. I'm impressed with the list of vitamins and minerals and I'm happy with how they make me feel. I would totally get these again. 5 stars!

Gas and Burps

I didn't like this prenatal vitamin. I stopped after only 3 days. Within 30 minutes of taking the vitamin * after meal* horrible burps and foul gas starts. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

Vegan, tablet form (no chance of gelatin), and easy to swallow

This is a bottle of 60 tablets; the serving size is 2 tablets, and it is a 30-day supply. The tablets contain many useful and necessary ingredients. They do not have an odor. They have a very mild and good taste, which can be felt briefly in the mouth just before swallowing them. The serving size of two tablets per day has a specific advantage: if anyone is already using some vitamin combinations, based on that, they can use one tablet a day, adjusting the total balance of the vitamins.

Not Pregnant

I'm not pregnant but my Folic Acid, Iron and B12 is low and I really like the good amounts that are in this prenatal concoction. I also like the bonus vitamins and minerals that you get in prenatal tablets. Tablet size is great and easy to swallow, they are vegan too!

easy to swallow, no odor, safe

The advanced prenatal multivitamin pills are odorless, easy to swallow. No side effects so far, should be safe to take as a daily supplement during pregnancy.

Tasteless odorless

The good is that these are easy to take. They are smooth moderate sized pills that do not smell. I've had to toss some pregger pills due to their fish smell, so wanted to put that up first. HOWEVER, the reason these don't smell like fish oil is because they don't have any. It doesn't have omega 3 that's usually included in pregger pills and usually derived from fish making them stinky. Because I'm sensitive to smell and even more so during pregnancy, my other pregger pills are gummies, that use a ton of sugar to mask the fishy smell. Those on the other hand, on top of having too much sugar and that I tend to skip it if I forget to take them before brushing my teeth, don't have any iron, to avoid giving stomach problems/constipation. I've developed an aversion to meat during current pregnancy so I really need iron and these ones from Be Kind does have the full amount recommended, along with the full list of pregnancy vitamins ... I do like that I can take these anytime, like after I brush my teeth since no chewing on sugar is involved. So for me, I'm going to be doing both in half doses.Another thing. The expiration date was covered by a label sticker. Thankfully there is more than 3 yrs left on best by date. If I hadn't been able to locate the date or it got peeled off with the label, I would not be able to give this a good rating !!!

Good option

Overall, these are a good option for a prenatal. They have a smell upon opening the bottle, however, it isn't fishy or ‘gross' smelling. They are large pills, however, the outside is smooth, making them easier to swallow.I didn't have any sort of upset stomach after taking these.Price wise, they are comparable to other prenatal vitamins.

Seems good quality - but big tablets

This seems like a good quality product from a UK company that uses GMP-accredited manufacturers, and good quality ingredients. The inside of the bottle has a little bit of a chalky, vitamin smell, but it's not noticeable when you actually take a tablet out. The tablets themselves have pretty much no smell. They're pretty big - they may be difficult for some people to swallow.

Easy to swallow

These prenatal vitamins do not smell fishy like others. They are easy to swallow and have no aftertaste. You need to take 2 tables with food. They are regular size.

I spent hours looking for the right prenatal, it seemed like such an important thing to get right. It could be coincidence but my nausea went away a week after taking these (I took them from 6 weeks) so it’s a thumbs up from me!

Enjoying so far

I started taking this supplement after looking for a prenatal vitamin that a) has methylated, bioavailable nutrients, b) has methyl-folate instead of folic acid, and c) contains choline. I've been taking this for just over 2 months and they don't make me nauseous (and are cheaper than other alternatives I have found!). Plus, the Igennus customer service is truly stellar. I'm giving them four stars and not five because I haven't done any bloodwork since so I can't say for sure what their impact has been.

Hello , I am preparing for ive due to start mid September. Will these be ok for me to start taking these now?

Igennus Healthcare Nutrition

Dear Hayley,

Thanks for your question. Yes, it would be fine for you to start taking these now. Feel free to reach out regarding which other supplements may be beneficial, such as our VESIsorb Ubiquinol and omega-3 supplementation.
