Each box contains 60 capsules, providing a 1-month supply at a daily dosage of 2 capsules.

Adults and children aged twelve years and over should take 2-4 capsules daily. Children aged three to twelve years should take 1-2 capsules daily.

Echium seed oil is produced from tall purple flowering plants which are native to the Canary Islands and are also grown in the UK. With a unique omega-3-6-9 make-up, echium seed oil is superior to other plant oils such as flaxseed, particularly beneficial for supporting plant based diets. As well as being a source of the essential fatty acid omega-3 ALA, echium seed oil is also rich in the rare omega-3 stearidonic acid (SDA) that is easily converted to EPA – the active omega-3 in fish oil that offers brain, heart and eye health benefits.

Balanced omega 3-6-9

Offering an optimal balance of omega-3-6-9, Echiomega is an excellent plant source of health-enhancing good fats, ideal for topping up the diet for restoring natural balance within the body. Echium seed oil provides an ideal 2:1 ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6, and with added benefits of omega-9 for optimum health. Unlike many other omega-3 rich plant seed oils, echium seed oil also contains the ‘good’ omega-6 GLA, for which evening primrose oil is sought after. It also provides omega-9 oleic acid, the principal fat in olive oil that is consumed in large amounts in the Mediterranean diet.

Efficiently raises omega-3 EPA levels

As omega-3 consumption may be low in a plant based diet, echium seed oil is an ideal choice as it’s the richest natural source of omega-3 Stearidonic acid (SDA), making it an ideal alternative to fish oil. SDA is efficiently converted to omega-3 EPA in the body, usually found in fish, therefore raises omega-3 EPA levels far more effectively than other plant oils. Although flaxseed oil is the default for many non-fish eaters, it does not raise EPA levels effectively as the conversion pathway is typically poor. By comparison, 60% more EPA is synthesised from echium seed oil than from flaxseed oil.

The quiet superhero

My husband and I have been taking Echiomega capsules for several years. It's quite a little unsung hero - easy to swallow, no after taste, gentle on the stomach and it provides the 3 Omegas. Win win. Also, I can't take products containing soya and very glad this doesn't contain it. Good to be able to obtain it online and we've been doing this for several months now.

Excellent and not a Fish in sight!!

I have been using Echiomega as a supplement for nearly three years, and I am so impressed. I can't tolerate fish oils, so to find out that Echium Oil is as good as fish oil, in terms of Omega 3,6 and 9 constituents, was brilliant. I have Chronic Arthritis and this works as well as the Fish oil on my joints and muscles, without the nasty side effects I suffered from with Fish oil. I will not take anything else, and I have tried so many alternatives to Fish Oil over the years. This is the best for me. I have told so many people about this product. I now even use the oil on my skin and it is beautiful and keeps my skin soft, supple and moisturised, no dry skin at all. Thank you Ingennus, U have saved my joints and my skin, in more ways than one.

Finally an omega 3 source that I can tolerate

I have been struggling with migraine and headaches for quite some time now. As increasing omega 3 was one of the possible treatment options, I have tried several omega-3 sources over the years. From fish-oil supplements to algae supplements. They all caused headaches. Since I have started taking Echiomega, my headaches have become less frequent and less painful. And the supplement is extremely well tolerated. So happy with this product!

Body didn't like this at all. Had the runs for a couple of weeks, actually more like IBS symptoms to be fair. Didn't know what was going on, then stopped taking them and I got back to normal....weird stuff that I can't ever recommend. Sadly I paid for this displeasure

This is a great product

Third time I've purchased this product and I really like how I feel overall and my joints feel while taking it.

Somewhat like allergic sensation

About 20-30 minutes after taking this, my lips and ear lobes started tingling, like allergic type tingling or like the way stinging nettle supplements affect me. Even if it wasn't an allergic reaction, it wasn't pleasant. Going to try borage oil instead for similar profile.

Decent enough for the price, no need to worry about rancid fish oil since this is vegan, aches and pains in my shoulders have disappeared since taking this though it did take around 2 weeks for me to notice any effect.
