This nutritionally balanced supplement has been expertly formulated by Igennus nutrition scientists to deliver just the right daily doses of nutrients, in their most bioavailable forms, into the bloodstream. Each of the nutrients is provided at clinically effective levels but lower than upper limits. An adult serving provides 24mg zinc picolinate, 120mg elemental magnesium citrate (from 752mg bulk magnesium) and 10mg vitamin B6 (20mg for US-based customers). Split dosing provides all-day nutrient coverage for both adults and children (dose accordingly). Each bottle contains either 120 or 360 tablets, with dosing recommended between 1-4 tablets daily, age-dependent.

Highly-absorbable chelated zinc picolinate

Neurobalance contains 24mg of the chelated mineral form, zinc picolinate (bound to picolinic acid), which is highly bioavailable. The absorption of zinc in the body is a complex process that involves passing through the intestines, into the bloodstream, and up into individual cells. When comparing zinc citrate, gluconate and picolinate, absorption is enhanced when zinc is complexed with picolinic acid. Zinc picolinate also retains levels in the body for longer.

Fully reacted, bioavailable magnesium citrate

Neurobalance contains the bioavailable fully reacted magnesium form, magnesium citrate, providing 120mg elemental magnesium citrate (from 752mg bulk magnesium). Magnesium that is fully reacted is chemically bound to its carrier as opposed to supplements being buffered or a blend of magnesium oxide and citric acid. Unless magnesium citrate is fully reacted, it will contain poorly absorbed magnesium oxide, which often has laxative effects and has low bioavailability. Secondly, being fully reacted, magnesium citrate is effectively fast-tracked through the digestive system to deliver higher levels into the body.

Vitamin B6 as body-ready pyridoxal-5-phosphate

Our nutrition scientists have formulated this product using the most active, body-ready form of vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 exists in 6 forms but only the pyridoxal-5-phosphate form has enzyme cofactor activity. Taking a supplement in this form is key as vitamin B6 metabolism is often compromised, impacting the conversion of dietary vitamin B6 to pyridoxal-5-phosphate in the body.
